SOLFI / Ecclesia Lucis is a small, family-rooted church in Juneau, Alaska. We are developing a shared life of spiritual study, practice, and service.
Being small means we have the opportunity to know one another and to see how our choices affect the people around us. It also means we are still working out what we can responsibly undertake.
Taking part
You are welcome to ask questions about our beliefs and to disagree with something you read here. We would rather understand what someone thinks than ask them to claim an agreement they have not reached.
Participation involves learning what others need and being honest about what you can offer. It may begin with conversation or study. As shared work develops, it also calls for dependable commitments and a willingness to address difficulties directly.
Living here
Our responsibilities begin among the people and places we already know. In Juneau, families, schools, businesses, and community organizations have histories and work of their own. We want to understand that work before assuming what we can add to it.
Related organizations
Some concerns explored here also appear in the work of Valhalla Forge and Evolution Lodge No. 9. Those organizations remain distinct from the church. Questions about a particular program, membership, or financial support belong with the organization responsible for it.
